A Grand Prairie family wanted to update their two-car garage of about 400 square feet as part of several improvements they were making around the house.

The installation was finished in one day. Instead of bare, stained concrete, the family now has a garage floor that looks intentionally finished and is easier to keep looking clean.

How Do We Prepare and Coat Garage Floors?

  • Inspect the concrete for existing coatings, cracks, pitting, contamination and moisture.
  • Mechanically prepare the concrete with diamond grinding, which removes weak material and creates the profile the coating needs to bond.
  • Repair appropriate cracks, pits and surface defects.
  • Apply the resin base coat. Epoxy Panda may use epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic or a hybrid, depending on the system.
  • Broadcast decorative flake across the wet base coat when installing a flake system.
  • Scrape and remove the excess flake.
  • Apply the protective topcoat. Epoxy Panda’s standard topcoat is a polyaspartic clear.

How Much Does a Garage Floor Coating Cost in Grand Prairie?

Epoxy Panda’s planning range for the approximately 400 sq. ft. Grand Prairie garage on this page is $2,800–$3,200, for a full-flake system with mechanical preparation included. This is a planning estimate. After a free in-person consultation, Epoxy Panda provides a written estimate that confirms the actual price.

Price depends on square footage, concrete condition, existing coating removal, significant repairs, steps, vertical surfaces, specialty traction and system selection. See Epoxy Panda’s garage floor coating pricing or use the planning calculator with your own square footage.

What Should You Know Before Coating a Garage Floor?

  • A coated garage floor is generally easier to sweep, vacuum and mop than unfinished concrete.
  • Decorative flake can help visually disguise minor dirt, small imperfections and everyday wear better than a uniform solid-color surface.
  • Garages with strong direct sunlight at an open door need a system selected with UV exposure in mind.
  • A coating does not stop concrete from moving, so a repaired crack can sometimes become visible again.
  • Glossy finishes can be slippery when wet, and texture can be added where traction matters.
